What is homeopathic medicine?
Homeopathic medicine has been around for over 200 years. Homeopathy was developed by the German physician, Samuel Hahnemann.
It is based on the principle that like cures like. If a substance produces certain symptoms in a healthy person, then the same substance in a very dilute form can stimulate a person's immune system to heal itself.
For example, when cutting up an onion, one's eyes may burn and the nose runs. Some people who suffer from hayfever have these very symptoms. Allium Cepa (made from the onion) would alleviate these symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are so incredibly dilute they are safe for even babies and pregnant women. You cannot overdose on a homeopathic remedy.
For chronic conditions it is wise to consult an experienced classical homeopath. Common remedies are available at any health store or in the Natural Value section of Zehr's.
