Alternative Fruit and Vegetable Wash

To clean and draw out pesticides from fresh produce, fill the sink with water, the juice of 1/2 of a fresh lemon and 3 teaspoons of salt. Let produce soak for 20 minutes.

OR

Purchase a bottle of 'Food Grade' Hydrogen Peroxide (available at The Healthy Nuts (11962 Tecumseh Rd) and add 1/2 teaspoon in a sink full of water.

Hydrogen peroxide will kill any bacteria (such as E.coli) on food which will also extends its shelf life.
