Ginger Honey & Lemon Tea
(Cold and Flu Remedy)

Ingredients

- 4 cups filtered water
- 2 inch piece of fresh ginger root
- 2 tablespoons raw honey
- Juice from ½ a lemon
Optional -  shot glass of brandy or a few dashes of cayenne pepper

Directions

Fill a small pot with approximately 4 cups of filtered water.
Peel a 2 inch piece of fresh ginger and slice it into coin sized pieces.
Add the ginger to the pot of water and bring it to a boil.
Let the water boil for about one minute before turning off the stove.
Let the ginger steep in the hot water for five minutes.
Pour the hot ginger water into a mug.
Add the juice from half a lemon and 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey. Stir this well.
You can also add a shot of brandy (about 1.5 ounces). This helps kill bacteria and may help you sleep better. You can add a pinch of cayenne pepper instead if you like, which will also kill bacteria.
Save the extra ginger water you boiled for making more of this drink to sip on later.
