Discover the Power

of Grounding

Grounding (earthing) is the practice of connecting your body to the earth so you can absorb its natural electrons. Normally you’d do this by standing barefoot on grass or sand, but a grounding mat brings that same effect indoors.

Here’s the quick, no-nonsense version:

How a grounding mat works

A grounding mat is made of a conductive material that plugs into the ground port of a standard outlet (or a grounding rod outside).
That ground port is literally connected to the earth.
When you touch the mat—feet, hands, or while sleeping—your body equalizes its electrical charge with the earth.
Think of it like static electricity finally having somewhere to go.

Benefits people use it for

  • Less inflammation & pain: Some small studies show reduced redness, swelling, and delayed onset muscle soreness.

  • Calmer nervous system: Grounding can lower cortisol and help shift you out of stress mode.

  • Better sleep: Many report easier sleep and fewer nighttime wake-ups when grounded at night.

  • Reduced muscle tension: Helps the body “settle,” especially after long computer hours.

  • Mood support & focus: Grounding can have a stabilizing, calming effect.

Why use a mat instead of going outside?

Because Canada in winter.
And because you can stay grounded for hours while you work, read, or sleep instead of 10 minutes barefoot on the lawn.
